Residential Renovation & Extension — Birmingham

Gather was inspired by a simple but profound desire — to create a home where large groups of family and friends can come together, and where multiple generations can coexist harmoniously, always connected to the heart of the house.

The reorientation of the staircase was central to achieving this. By opening up a clear, uninterrupted flow from front to back, the redesign creates a visual connection through the entire home — inviting movement, interaction and a genuine sense of togetherness. Spaces feel open and generous without losing their sense of purpose.

The renovation introduces a new kitchen, dining area, sitting room and WC, alongside a new utility with a separate entrance for everyday practicality. A fully openable window to the garden dissolves the boundary between inside and out — extending the home into the landscape and bringing the garden into daily life.
