• We are currently undertaking an exciting research project supported by the Climate Innovation Fund.

Our goal is to develop bespoke retrofit strategies tailored to houses of different periods and construction types and we are committed to validating our strategies through in-use monitoring, ensuring real-world effectiveness and impact.

Considering the ongoing energy crisis, understanding the positive impact of retrofits on energy consumption, the environment, and the cost of energy bills is crucial. Our research aims to shed light on these benefits, paving the way for a more accessible and sustainable approach to retrofit projects.

Aligned with the West Midlands Combined Authority's ambitious plan to deliver energy-efficient homes with low carbon heating, our research holds the potential to contribute to this noble endeavour. By focusing on common house types and construction methods in the region, we aim to develop scalable solutions that promote widespread adoption of energy-efficient retrofit strategies.

We're dedicated to driving demand for retrofit, fostering innovation in the construction industry, and ultimately, contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
