• Residential Extension & Refurbishment — Birmingham

It was a hot summer, and thanks to the client's soda stream we drank a lot of chilled sparkling water during this project. We wanted to return the favour by injecting a little fizz into their home.

Designed under permitted development guidelines, the brief was straightforward: create a modest, light-filled space that integrates seamlessly with the existing home and works as its heart. A large rooflight bathes the interior in natural light, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere. The space encompasses a new kitchen, dining area, sitting room, WC and utility — every square metre considered to maximise functionality without excess.

Working within tight budget constraints, this project stretched every penny thoughtfully — proving that considered design doesn't require a large budget, only the right approach. The result is a home that changed not just in plan, but in the way its inhabitants live day to day, in ways they hadn't quite anticipated.
